The Conductra architecture
is solely based on
 |
Bringing
the project team together. |
Sun's Java environment.
Conductra uses 3-tier client / server architecture. The thin client
is implemented through a set of Java applets. The middle tier is
implemented at the server side. The
application business logic is implemented using Thread-Safe Java
Servlets. The database is accessed by servlets using JDBC. The Middletier
Servlets and Database servers can be deployed on the same server
host or different servers to support high levels of scaling.
The communication between applets running
at client system and servlets running at the server side is achieved
using HTTP/HTTPS request and response objects. The HTTP/HTTPS protocol
is used to provide access across firewalls. The concurrent access
to Conductra by multiple users is facilitated through the thread-safe
design of servlets.

| Driving
technologies In Conductra |
| 100%
Server & Client side Java:
This
architecture provides significant
performance advantages by allowing Java applets to load and execute
at the client level. In addition, it frees up the Server side Java
servlets to process on a demand basis thus providing optimum performance
of the application. |
| Built in Scheduling Engine:
The core to any project management
technology is the scheduling engine.
This engine is fundamental to providing resource loading, resource
scheduling, critical path identification, and true project control.
Very few project management tools provide an internal Scheduling
Engine and therefore need to rely on other technologies in order
to provide a complete project management offering. A significant
amount of Conductra's development effort was devoted to the creation
of an internal Scheduling Engine based on the Standish Algorithm.
This feature allows Conductra to be a true stand-alone product.
|
| Automatic Notification (push technology):
Critical to the success of any
project is the ability to keep the project delivery on time and
on budget. Automatic Notification with a push technology implementation
delivers automated messaging to personnel involved in the project.
This messaging alerts the personnel of critical path deliverables
and timetables, allowing the project to remain on schedule and within
budget. The technology proactively notifies all project resources
with task reminders and project information, keeping all team members
up to date in real time. |
| Time-Zone Management:
When running a multi-location project
spanned across multiple time zones,
a major challenge is created in trying to synchronize to a single
time zone standard. As project updates are entered, they are time-stamped
to the local system and time zone. This creates problems for the
central point of project management in trying to coordinate tasks,
milestones, and deliverables against all of these time zones. With
built-in Time Zone Management, Conductra allows the project manager
to select a central time-zone location and then Conductra synchronizes
all project plan entries to the time zone selected as the point
of control. |
